I have the recommended grades listed at home, the redline stuff is very good. Don't put any fresh gear oil in yet though, it will need to be drained if we end up pulling your block to resurface for the MHG.

No I'm not doing it :) , it's another little job Nick said could squeeze in (hopefully) :notworthy

ive notice this is missing from the site, can somebody do a page for a full service with recommneded Products i.e.
Plugs - makes and codes ,
leads - makes, codes if available
Engine/gear/diff oil - makes and recomended grades

maybe a recommendations for high vs low millage engines?

I know there are pages about oil, but the deal more with the advantages of semi synth and fully synth and an explanation of grades

In my diff I am using Redline 75W90NS (no friction modifier) but the "normal" recommendation would be 75W90 which has a friction modifier already added. The danger with the 75W90NS is that you could prematurely wear the clutches in your diff. The advantage with 75W90NS is that the diff will lock sooner and provide more traction, which is most noticable in the wet (less wheelspin). The main thing to avoid is "chatter" from the diff. If you get this then you will need to add some friction modifier in small amounts until it goes away. I posted the contact details for Redline Oils in the UK in the suppliers thread, although the US prices are more attractive if you're ordering other things too.

Castrol classic Hypoy LS all the way for the Diff (LSD) and any GL4/5 75w-80/90 for the (manual) gearbox.

Don't buy it from Halfords as they are stupid prices and you can only buy it by the litre.
