Was having a blast against one or two others tonite - see kills / spots etc, hit about 110 and my supe's apparently built in smokescreen kicked in with trail of blue/grey smoke behind - immediately came off the gas and let her coast down to about 60 when it stopped, everything seemed ok noise wise, oil pressure just over 40, it's customary just under halfway on the temp guage, erring on the side of caution I took it up to 100 slowly - no problems, no smoke - ran out road then so had to stop.

On the way home hit the same stretch of road and hit 110 again, no probs, oil, temp and engine noises all fine.

A 122k 3.0 n/a engine - fully serviced by toyota and no rebuilds afaik.
A one off blow off by the engine, has had no major runs out since I brought it home from Carlisle at xmas, or signs of piston ring wear?

Do I need to start saving now or what?

I would just see how it goes Paul, keep a good eye on water and oil levels, could have been a valve or ring sticking, and just had a 'moment'
Fingers crossed.

Had you just cornered a left hander *really* hard? my other N/A motor used to puff smoke a little while after taking a certain slip road junction i know very well at warp speeds.. It was predictable and always the same. Very odd!

I could repeat it every time, as it was on my route back from work.. i had people follow me who said the same thing too. No smoke before or after the event, no matter how hard i tried!

Only thing anyone could come up with was oil splashing up & getting blown through the crankcase breather.

As Nick says, watch the oil and water levels.. as a side thought, it didn't have too much oil in it?

this was just after the roundabout - well after accelrating from zero(ish) to 110 - I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyways it was a one off!
