When you say the fluid is OK, apart from level does it look and smell OK? Sounds stupid, but if the fluid smells burnt, and worse if it contains fibre particles, then your box is shot.
Has the fluid been changed recently, or at all? If not, a full flush may help depending on how bad it is.

I had an auto car years ago, that managed to ingress water into the fluid. This caused the box to slip, but not continuously.

Failing any of the above, autoboxes are something of a black art, and best left to experts.

not that i know, leo told me that the car was imported and then stood for 6 years . then i think they changed all the oils on the car

May have used wrong fluid, thats not uncommon.

I think a full flush and refill will be in the region of £100 thats a price I've heard quoted. Other than that have a look in the Yellow Pages for an autobox specialist, they will diagnose it in no time flat.

I'll gladly have a look at it ... however the bubbling noise your hearing sounds like a knackered torque converter/ cooked box .. An old member craig had the same problem , the box wasnt reacting properly and the same bubbling noise was present .. in the end we swapped out the box and torque converter with a known good unit ... easy job to do .... its just heavy .. takes about 4 hours.

when do you want me to go there?

OK, the Gearbox selects drive pretty quickly and changes through the gears fine, no surges, noises etc etc. But if you floor the throttle, its all engine revs and no action. The levels are fine, the oil is still red on the dipstick and it doesn't smell burnt. It's like having a manual with a knackered clutch.

I did tell Pedro to find a decent auto box specialist and get them to do a service on the box, for all the good replies to a thread about autoboxes, a specialist is the only way to go with these mystical things :D

Its not ever going to accelerate properly untill the code 52 is sorted .. are you guys sure this isnt the only problem as with a code 52 the engine will rev but make no power

thats what my one does then all of a sudden you get a massive amount of go- i thought that was just turbo lag as the engine seems to take a huge breath you can hear the noise of the engine for a second or two then you get catapalted forwards would say it feels very sinilar to a slippingclutch

No catapulting forward in this car mate

Ed it doesn't have the knock sensor problem all the time, thats an intermitant fault!!
