Fuse box behind flap in drivers footwell.
Fuse 11 - top row - blue - 15 AMP.
Check there is nothing shorting out at back of the radio, the car illumination wire is normally a green one,(or red/white) this becomes +12vdc when the side lights are switched on.

Are they on full brightness or dim?
Do they come on only when the ignition is switched on or all time?
If they come on dim when the ignition is turned on, possibility is you have "dip dim" system fitted, check my site HERE (http://www.clickdesign.co.uk/supradupra/html/dip-dim.html)
If they come on all the time regardless of ignition:
In the engine compartment is a relay for the headlights marked headlight relay. This relay is in charge of switching on the headlight lamps separate to the side lights.
Its possible this relay has gone faulty and has failed "on" - take it out and test the continuity across the 2 big pins. There should be no continuity across them with the realy removed, if there is its faulty.
