How long befour you can open up a car after a hg change? Posted this question before in a different thread, but no one replyed :crybaby: And is it the same for a mgh?

When I changed the head gasket on mine,Igot in it and drove it as normal :yes: but there always be different views on a subject like this but myself do the job test drive check all the levels if alls well drive it my 2pence worth :)

ye that's what i got told, but i always recomended giving it 500 miles first and was told, "ye back in the 80's but not now no need with modern gaskets"

I would give it 3 or 4 warm up/cool down cycles to make sure everything is sealed, you don't need any more than that I don't think.

cool i recon it'll be fine then to give it a bit of gun when the engine goes back in then :cheeky: Recon i'll take it relitavely easy tho for the first few miles th just to make sure everything is sound
