I can feel the speed but not see it

My speedo has gone tits up, I have no indication and no idea to the fault, any help will be greatly welcome.

More than likely - the cable has snapped. Check it :)

Check for fault codes, quick search on forum will help. Speedo cables don't usually break, but the casing of the cable can get crushed and trap the cable. (had any front tyres changed lately? thats how my white car got broke)
It's also not unknown for the sensor on the gearbox to pack up.
