well i was going to just get a new stereo with usb connections but after some reading up i have bought myself a computer for the car. Just need to hook uo a 7" monitor and i have multimedia at my finger tips in the car.Pics to follow soon. Should have the pc on Thursday. Still looking for a vga 7" monitor which i will have to custom mount into the dash some how. It has custom made screens when loading related to toyota supra and such and my car has been incorporated into the main desk top page.
Should be cool

Sadly behind that is the ECU and ABS control boxes, they take up most of the useful room.

TBH, the hard bit is hiding of the PC, if I do it again I'll use a laptop...

To get the factor look, I got a 2nd dash pannel and cut it out so the whole TFT would pass threw, then took the screen apart and using a hot melt gule gun fixed the screen in place.

Using loads of filler and time sanding it smooth so it matched the pasltic of the dash, then primed and sprayied with satin black like paint thats a perfect match for factory.

Hoping the pc will fit in the glove box. If not it will go under one of the seats. Its not very big

Ok a pic of what is there now. I want to try and keep the stereo where it is. I will be moving the dials above and will need to cut out the ash tray area to fit the screen. That the plan anyway.LOL

You could also move the Heater controls to the vent pannel on the passenger side, that would give more room but loose the factory look

Pics of my carputer. Still need a 7" monitor to do this. THe pc is too big for the glove box so may have to see if it will fit under the passenger seat. Hope to mount a couple of usb points in the center consol, may use the small coin tray for them so i can hook up my usb stick that i am currently filling up with lots of music and videos.

i got one of those,, i had it off ebay for £60,, its an old hewlett packard unit from the gas board,, you'll need a ciggy plug adaptor to run it,, if you dump the under seat amp, and then remove the pc' sides and top, it just about fits, the only prob you'll then have is the power plug monitor out, mouse and keyboard plugs will be tight against the strut under the seat,, you'll see that when you lift out the seat

That was cheap mate. I paid a fair bit more but i had some upgrades fitted first and custom loading pages with a piccy of my car. I have the cable for the ciggy power although i want to hard wire this kit so it starts up as soon as i start the car.....

forgive me if you've already done this, i'm sure you have actually..
but just in case...
you have had a look round mp3car.com ?

theres as much info there on this sort of thing as there is on mk3's here!
guides for everything and a shop for those hard to find adapters

Yeah they have been pointed, I find www.digitalcar.co.uk (http://www.digitalcar.co.uk) or www.digital-car.co.uk (http://www.digital-car.co.uk) dont have the link to hand, much more friendly and less clicky
