well this afternoon i was out to the black soop and finished off putting in the pillar pod and gauges, the car been cranking over a bit to start lately and i checked the codes today after it wouldnt start at all and got a code 12,51 now the question is i had the dash out today to route the pod cables, would a loose connection at the back of the dash give me the codes at all? like does the signal go to the dash then to the ecu?

The very first thing I'd check on a Turbo Supra thats turning over but not firing up is the cam position sensor connector.

Give it a wiggle or a clean up and see if that makes it fire up.

What he said.

The only dash as far as I'm aware that mildly communicates with the ECU is the digital dash. The analogue locks are entirely passive.

As above the CPS connector is a big weak spot on these cars now they are nearing antique age!

Other areas are also spark pack connector & immobilisers should there be one fitted.
