my car cuts out. as in engine turns off and all assistance is lost when off the throttle and turning right at roundabouts at quite some speed. it does it when manouvering too. just not all the time. it only happens when you turn right but not left. suggestions to what it could be please fellas  it's pretty dangerous
Idle-up? If you were to jack the front of the car in the air and, with the engine running, turn the steering from lock to lock the engine revs should increase. Even if it appears to be working you need to identify the vacuum lines going to/from the power steering air-control valve and check them for leaks/splits, or just replace them with Silicone Vacuum Hose (SVH). IIRC one goes from the bottom of the accordian hose, to the PS pump, and then up to the throttle body (TB) somewhere.

It's really not that difficult unless you don't have any tools or anywhere to work. It would take me about 30 minutes, and I am very slow, trust me. You would need 2 axle stands and a jack to start with and a screwdriver and some small sockets (8-10mm) to take a few bits off and have a look. Plus you would learn a little about your car. The mystery soon goes away once you have taken things on and off a few times. Get someone to help you if you want. You'll be glad in the long run.
BTW, it's only a suggestion that it is the idle-up but you have to start looking for these faults somewhere.

Sound's like an electrical fault. Some thing must be earthing out! Have a look around for wires that severed or worn through to the wire. Loseing power like that can have disastrous effects :crybaby:

I had a cavaler do this to me only on a certain right hand bend in wakefield and only if going over 50mph, turned out to be a break in the wiring loom to the coil pack that opened up with the twist in the chassie when hitting that bend hard,
Have your car runing at idea parked up and try to wiggle all the wiring loom but be careful not to pull any thing out. if you find a break it should cut out again,
But it could be some thing else !
