Just put the deposit down on a car. the right frone side skirt was coming adrift...looked like a clip was snapped. how easy it is to get another one? It wasn't rotten in there, jsut plastic bits bust.
not enough to stop me getting it, jsut will want to sort it when i get it.
Stu
you mean the bit behind the front wheel? It will be rotten.. theres a metal strip running through it that collects water, rots, and the expansion pushes the trim out.
Its a replacement jobbie im afraid.. preferably from a 91+ version as the metal strip was removed from the inside for this reason.

It liioked like snapped plastic when i looked...plastic still in the hole....either way I'll get it sorted. Can you get these from toyota or summet?
Stu
You can get anything you like from Toyota as long as you remortage your house each time :violin: Wewlcome to the reassuringly expensive world of m3 ownership Stu :banghead: :) :)

Is there such a thing as a parts cd with prices on these things? I am sure its dodgy asking...but they are handy. I had the bmw one.
Stu
yep there is.. but its a big download.. cant remember the address at the mo for the website.
it has no prices though.

Not neccessarily.....take it off, strip out all the rusty metal, stick it back on with sikoflex, and put the bolts back in. Job done, and it really doesnt look like a bodged job.
Any more details on the car Stu?

Its a an 89F Silver later shape Turbo Manual. 100k or so. Not sure on the headgasket but no signs at the moment of a blown head gasket. Me and my mate can replace it if it goes anyway (will use a hks stopper metal one and ARP bolts).
Oil pressure looked good.
pretty tidy, interior needs a valet. The guys is putting a new Ticket on it and 6 months tax.
Hopefully have it next week....at which point I hope to do my first big Job on it....poly bushes all round (the onse from supra sport europe...assuming they reply about their rather odd price scheme....you click from euros to pound and get the same number...so 10 euros turns into 10 pounds hehe thats 50%)
Stu
Glad I'm not the only one to notice Arnout's weird currency converter then. :D

Sorry for the very very late reply Tony! Only just relooked for this thread as I just removed the drivers ide trim thingy I was on about originally.
I see exactly what you mean with the rust!
Tony, are u still happy to do those CDs for me? It would be very helpfull!
The siko flex idea might work, but how easy would it be to remove them should I ever need to get the wing off? I guess if I buy neew, the colour may not match though.
Cheers

Sorry, only just seen this.
You've raised a very good point there,
one which i seemed to overlook when i did this to mine.(it was 2 years ago, and the trims still look in excellent shape
oh well, i'll just have to hope i never have to take my wings off :)
I don't know how strong sikoflex is, but i don't fancy ripping the trims off to find out either :)
