Hi there fellow supra lovers. I thought I would drop a line to say hi. I have just purchased another supra. It is an '88 7M-GTE. Unfortunatly it is an automatic. But not for long. I have a 2JZ-GTE ready for install. I have followed the magazine SUPER STREET guidelines set forth by TWINS TURBO and right now the engine has about 750Hp. I am aiming for 1170Hp. Oh and by the way I live in British Columbia, Canada. I love because we get no snow. Just rain. Anyway I think I have said enough, when I get my car back I will get pics uploaded soon. Talk to you all later.

Hi, I've just finished converting my car to a 2JZ - but running it on stock internals and my goals are a far more modest 500bhp (probably on a stock twins setup, but I might see about getting hold of the HKS twin kit)

I'm curious to know what route you've taken, is it single/twin, standalone or piggyback, which gearbox, any internal work?

Oh, and pics please :D

ok as I said I am building the 2JZ before it goes in the car. Here is the parts that I have put in it.

K&N Intake, TiAL BOV, Twins Turbo Exhaust, Twins Turbo Downpipe, World Racing Boost Controler. This setup will give you 400HP

for 750HP keep everything for the 400HP and add,
Uprgade Front-mount intercooler, MoTeC Engine Management, Brian Crower Camshafts, R.E.V. Valves, R.E.V. Valvesprings, R.E.V. Retainers, ARP Head Studs, 750cc injectors, Aeromotive High-flow fuel pump, Aeromotive Fuel pressure regulator, Twins Turbo single or twin turbo upgrade, Twins Turbo Intake Manifold, Accufab Throttle body, Twins Turbo Custom swirl pot cooling system.

for 960HP keep everything for the 750HP and add,
1,000cc injectors, More Boost pressure, Brian Crower Connecting rods, Arias Forged pistons.

for 1120Hp keep everything for the 960HP and add,
Billet crankshaft, ARP Bigger head studs, 1,600cc injectors, Twins Turbo Bigger Turbo

now I have taken the motor to the 750 mark but am scared to go any further.

Personally, I'd want to keep the car streetable and as you're using a MoTeC ECU, (which one btw?) I'd switch to a 2 injector per port setup - 650cc and 1100cc should work quite well. For Fuel flow, maybe go for a dual pump setup.

Not sure about the Valve train work you're having done, are the springs a twin spring design, or uprated pressure over stock? rebuild the valve train with a good spring setup and some lightweight (titanium) retainers. Up the rev limit to around 9K, replace the valve guides on the exhaust side with sodium coated jobs.

Are you putting a stroker kit in there, or are you looking to use oem spec's for the bore/stroke?

Maybe think about water injection as well, that'll help you get decent power on pump fuel.

I'd have thought you'd run into drivetrain problems at this point, is it manual or auto?

EDIT: If you don't want to take it any further, then just bung it in the car and run it. What are you building it for?

Well I may know the parts going in the engine but other than that i am not that mechanicaly inclined. There is nothing I can't do around a car but I can't build an engine. There is a shop around here called "Garage Five" They are building the engine for me. I told them what to put in but that is all. As I said I got the list from the magazine "Super Street". As for what I am building the car for, well I want a streetable car that can go to the track and have fun. For everything else on the car I will be working on it. i.e. rear end (TRD 2 way), drive shaft (carbon), cusco roll cage. If anyone has any other ideas for what i should or should not do please do not hesitate to let me know. Thank You.

Nice, bet it's not cheap! I think I'd leave it at the 750bhp mark and get used to it, should be a blast on the track! Drag Strip or Circuit? Either will be a handfull :D

well my previous car was a 240sx and now I want to show them that other cars can and will beat them. Either in drifting, drag, or circuit it doesn't matter. My car can handle it all. I was thinking of getting a set of Tein coilovers what do you guys think?
