i have a bad exhaust manifold leak due to a Bolt that dosbt tighten...and i leave for the boat tomorrow!!!!
Will loctite or something do???
help!!!!
Loctite engineering adhesive might hold it . you`ve got nothing to lose by trying it
but it really needs helicoiling
May be Nick`ll be able to sort you out when you get down there :)
Is it a bolt or a stud? If the threads are gone in the head then I doubt locktight will help. Any chance of helicoiling? Might be worth trying a slightly longer bolt/stud and don't overtighten. It's going to be tough to do a worthwhile bodge without causing yourself further problems when you want to put it right. How about trying to wrap the bolt in something like, dare I say it, aluminium foil?

Am away to see if i can use the longer end of the stud to go into the head first, then use the nut on the shorter side. Need a vice so need to go on a mission to find 1 :banghead:
Which end of the head is it? If its easy to get to, you can helicoil it in situ, PITA otherwise. You could try Loctite, nothing ventured, nothing gained, how loose is it?
BTW, you aren't the only one with a problem, I managed to snap the overflow off me rad earlier, fitting a bloody TC shiny rad pipe, managed to fix it, with a piece of thin metal tube up the middle, copious amounts of chemical metally stuff and some Araldite. Time will tell, but it seems to be ok.

I bet it was a supra :)Are you insinuating that owners of white supras are less careful than their colourful counterparts? If so then wash thy mouth out with soap or something even less appealing!!!!!

My wife is, she scraped a wall. Her ever get to drive my aerotop, hmm she'll get to that shortly after hell freezes over :DHuh! Women drivers eh? The other day I watched a woman have 4 attempts to reverse a Peugeot 106 into a space that you could have got a double decker bus in - I nearly offered to do it for her!
Little itsby bitsy rant about lady drivers over (sorry other ladies) :duck:
Nah, I was only joking about the wife, she's really a very good driver (quote: M.Winner) only she got hounded into a corner by a tw*t in a Jag, and scraped a wall. Normally, she's out and about chasing Imprezas
