Get a 2 ton crane, with a nice long reach, not that the engine and box weigh that much, not by far, but when the boom is extended the downwards force is much greater.
Mind you, I am researching another alternative. I'm looking for a Ford Cargo or similar sized recovery truck with a Hiab, easy then.

Engine and gearbox aren't far from weighing 500kg, I have a 2 tonne (2000kg) engine lift, on full extension (which you need for the supra) it's rated at 500kg, and it struggles if the engine is slightly snagged on something.

We did a transplant on darket69 's car 2 weeks ago took out the engine and gear box and the crane was only set to 250 so u should be ok, but u do need one with a bloody long arm.
The lorry and hiab plan sounds best then. :D

But also maken sure you use chains and not rope to lift it out!!!!!!!
I used some kind of strapping stuff used to strap stuff onto trailers :)
worked fine :)
I used tow rope to lift the engine and gear box out... :)
You can see the strands of rope undo themselves. lol
I borrowed my friend's dad's 1 tonne crane, with a broken right side castor wheel, it didnt help things at all!
No matter what anyone tells you, I have never, ever used frayed blue nylon rope that has been sitting around the back of the garage for five years to pull out a supra engine, it never happened, right? :flush:
Worked though :)
This was during my first engine swap when I had a week to get the car running and I had neglected to order any chain! I would never do something like that now I'm a professional ;)
