plz plz plz helpyou want to pull the motor out? two schools of thought: one - leave the motor/gbox bolted together and pull the lot, or unbolt the box and block, and pull just the block.. most seem to favour pulling the lot in one go, then pulling them apart out of the car. I pulled the block only, and it was pretty easy to be honest. A few of the bolts are tough to get to, but not too bad. Warning: all of it is heavy! hardest thing is to watch the electrical connectors & vacuum pipes. label them or have a good memory!

Undo the engine mounts, gearbox mounts, speedo cable and clutch bits and the puppy should slide out. The prop will slip out of the back of the gearbox as you start hoisting it out.

If you are doing this job on the street remember to drain the gear box oil or you'll have angry neighbours lol i've experianced them, they are not nice lol :)

thanks nick....... its a auto box....... so i will have to un-do the gear changer......... is there any thing else i should watch out for?????
i was looking to see if the oil pipes from the box are fixed to the tunnel or just to the box????? i have found some flexy pipes fitted to the tunnel but didn't see right up on top of the box........

Good point Gordy made, you'll get a bit of oil out when the prop slips out (oo er )

You'll have to remove the gear selector, wether it be manual or auto.
From memory, none of the pipes are fixed to the tunnel.
Think you also have to remove the cross brace bar/stiffner thingy, 2no 19mm bolts and voila.

Nothing really else to watch, just try not to crush the copper pipe that goes through the bulkhead for the heater matrix too much, and just keep an eye out for any forgotten pipes that might still be attached.

Auto box has cooler pipes as well. Loosen the engine mounts right off before you undo the gearbox mount or you'll rip them in half as the weight of the box pulls the engine backwards.
