When my wife was driving me to Wales at warp speed it occurred to me that it was the first time we had driven the supra in the dark. Even with the headlamps on, it was exactly that!!!
Does anyone know of any sensible upgrades for the headlamps that dont involve bungy strapping the kids to the front holding candles? :banghead:

but it's such a great way to get them some fresh air.
i would try just changing the bulbs. people been phoning claiming they seen ufo's mine are so bright. and there standard as far as i know. :)
A year or two back I got 2 new complete headlamps from Toyota. You'll be surprised what a difference the new reflectors make. Add some 80/100W bulbs and they're not too bad.
I found that just adding brighter bulbs didn't help because the light wasn't focused.
You should also check the alignment too.
The biggest problem I find is that I get dazzled by an oncomming vehicle and my lights get overwhelmed. I also have 100W white foglamps and I find that using these helps combat this, although I know I look like a dick when I use them (what's new?). Better than ending up in a ditch at 80MPH though.

I bought a set of PIAA (EWC1 PR Platimum White) H4 headlamp bulbs. I think they were about £40 for the pair. They are standard wattage but high light output. They made a hell of a difference. I used to have to drive the car up to the garage door to see if I could see the glow off the stock ones. :banghead: It's such a relief for the kids, they used to get bugs in their teeth when we were driving fast. :) :cheeky:

Gotta be carefull here with fitting higher wattage bulbs, in this country its only legal I believe to fit 60/55 watt lamps to the front of the car and they must be E marked (keeps MOT man happy)
Fitting higher wattage lamps also puts upto double the load on the car wiring and can lead to nasty melting problems in the long term.
Best advice I can give is try a set of Xenon - Krypton filled H4 bulbs, often marked as H.I.D.
The ones you would be lookig for are the ones that light to 6000K or over.
Try: www.eurodezigns.com (http://www.eurodezigns.com)

you can normally get them on ebay for about £7ish, be sure to get the 6000K upwards NOT 4000K.
They give off an almost pure white light with a bluish tint to them, this is a better light to see with, have had a set fitted to mine for a few months now in the head lamps and the fogs (removed the yellow glass bit too)
Can honestly say they improved the headlamps no end, much better and nice and cheap too for a change :)

cheap mean knocked off normally. however head light bulbs seem to be very cheap and worth while.u can get the ring ultra xenon for £18.99 from motorworld. up to 60% more light.

Did think it was a bit weird these bulbs had wicks you needed to light :)
Seriuously thio had no probs with them so far, they are indeed over twice the price in the high street, ebay seems cheapest place by far to buy lamps, bewildering selection outhere tho! just shop around..
