View Full Version : 2.00mm Metal Head Gasket P/X 1.5mm
I need a 2mm MHG. I have a brand new in the box Greddy 1.5mm x 85mm bore that I can part exchange.
After measuring it seems I need the thicker gasket.
what exactly was the thickness issue ? have you had more than .3mm skimmed off the head ?

They had to take 12 thou off the block, and the numpties 'couldn't remember' what they took off the head. Head thickness with a vernier is 115.5mm. I''ve cc'ed the combustion chambers, haven't assembled the bottom end yet but will cc that too.
But doing the maths based on standard numbers modified for my skimmed block and the measurments from my cc'ing, with a 1.5mm x 85mm gasket I get 8.99 C/R and with a 2.00mm x 85mm I get 8.65 C/R.
Once I've cc'ed the bottom end too, I will be grinding a bit out of the combustion chambers in the head to even them up - they vary from 38.0cc - 38.9cc. May take out a little extra depending on final measurements, don't want the C/R to be higher than stock.
Don't have the cc numbers in front of me but I think the trend showed slightly smaller chambers towards the ends of the head. That suggests banana head, but straight edge over the cam cover surface on top the head is flat.
