When I open the petrol cap she sucks like Pamela Anderson :-)

When I open the filler cap to fill her up at the pump she sucks (well I'm assuming it's sucking and not blowing) air in through the fuel cap as I'm loosening it.

I mean a lot of air. Put it this way, if I could teach the wife (edit), I'd be a happy man. :)

She always done it but I think she's getting worse.

This is supposed to happen or is my baby got something wrong with her? :crybaby:

mine does that for a few seconds my nissan sunny did it aswell never happened on any other cars tho im pretty sure there was something in the nissan handbook saying it was normal so i assumed the supra was the same

i think it where the car pressurises the fuel tank and when u undo the cap it releases the pressure. quite normal.

it is quite normal, and as you say, it is a release of pressure, the sooner you open it after turning off the engine , the worse it is.

Tbh i couldn't tell ya what my soop does when you pull the petrol cap off but most cars i've had have done this but quite mildly. Alltho i remember fitting a petrol tank on my mates cavy sri and it was much slower than it had been befour i changed the tank and when the filler cap was removed it didn't half suck in a fair bit of air, we found that when fitting the tank i'd trapped and crushed the breather pipe. So possibilly you may have a blocked breather pipe.

I used to have a g'friend like that but the wife is hopeless with cars. If she's out in the drive while I'm working on the car and I go "Hand me that 10mm socket luv?" I get a blank look then "Describe it?"
