odd noise at low revs

recently ive been hearing a strange noise in very specific circumstances...

it happens at very low revs, usually in low gears. i always get it when im in 2nd gear going through my housing estate, where speedbumps make me slow down to coast over them. i should probably switch to 1st as the revs get very low but i normally stay in second. when i accelrate again, it happens.
i can get it to do the same noise coasting along in 1st until its almost idling at 1000rpm, then accelerating slowly. its always just above idle
i can only describe it as a rattley sort of noise, but it also sounds gear-ish.
it doesnt sound like it comes from the front where the engine is, to me it sounds like the middle/rear section.

i'd previously thought that it was something loose on the exhaust pipe like a heatsheild, and the low resonating vibrations of very low revs caused it to vibrate against something.
but now im thinking gearbox or diff. does this sounds like a shagged gearbox?
i dont know when the gearbox and diff last had an oil change but im thinking of doing them both soon.

lol. i keep trying to mow them down but im afraid the gold chains, oversized gypsy earrings and sovereign rings might scratch the paintwork. :)

dont get me started on them speedbumps! they've already ruined the front suspension on me puma! :crybaby:

Sounds like the noise mine makes. I am pretty sure its the diff. I need to get it running again first before I can sort that tho. :crybaby: Looks like quite a pain to change the diff oil tho. need to get an oil feed lance thingy. :crybaby:
