Just went to my Toyota dealer.
I need an oil pressure sensor - as mine is pissin out oil.
Whats the problem i hear you ask. Well there appears to be two different parts for the same year of car. Does any one know which one is correct for my car? why do they do this.....
Supra Mk3 - M/T 7mGTe 1991 .
Prod date Part name Model
8808-9305 gage assy,oil pressure sender MA70 " NIPPONDENSO "
8808-9305 gage assy,oil pressure sender MA70 " YAZAKI "
I would be very greatful for the assist, but these lil buggers cost a packet so i kinda need %100 answer.
Thanks, L. :notworthy

Surely they should be able to tell you if you give them your VIN. Get it from the registration document or the engine bay firewall.

Nope , already gave him my vin.

Would have thought that as they are the same part number, they would be interchangeable, just different manufacturers. Normally if the fit or function changes, they would issue a new part number.
I suppose the answer is to remove your old one and take it in to match.

Was just about to PM you about that!!!! If you look at the sensor(not easy I might add. One is thiner than the thread and the other is quite large. As soon as i can get to the block at the back of my garage i will phototgraph them. Will be next week as about to go away for a couple of days.

Toyota never cease to amaze me. Went in there the other day and said which bolts I was after, the guy brought up the diagrams on the epc and couldn't see which ones I needed. I had to point them out!!! I don't think he could actually use it properly because if he'd clicked on the part number it would have told him there were 7, and I had already said I needed 7!
I agree about them being interchangeable being the same part number though.
jesus i thought that was what the extortionate maindealer prices were for! so that at least you could leave the worry of working out if its the right bit to them. seems not tho...

STOP!!!! lol
The sender units arn't interchangable .. im not exactly too sure of the reason but put the wrong one in and it will fry the coil on the guage.
