Depends what you want to do, nos for drag strip, concentrate on the chassis for twisty stuff :)
Oh and welcome!

i fancy having a bit of a track toy,as i have a boring renault clio at the mo to get me to work and back, although i am debating waiting and saving more for the 7mgte as it seems far more fun

good drivetrain service, lots of stripping useless bits off (seems a shame on a clean car!), dampers, springs, bushes and brakes, and some sticky semi-slicks could all be done on a reasonable budget.

Well maybe yes the turbo is more fun as it easier to tune power wise, but at the end of the day any track day car on track is a good car! lol...
that car is a nice example of a prefacelift. be a shame to pull it apart for a track day car. better to keep it fo road use imo and i say nice example from the pics ive seen of it lol it does look nice though. cant be too many d reg cars left in good nick
