Time for Shaun to get new balljoints I think. He's been behaving alright mostly but I've generally not done anything with him lately apart from driving like a hooligan. Got the low speed clunk on full lock and some vibration under braking that isn't appropriate for warped discs (though I'm still considering how to uprate the brakes).
How much is it gonna cost me? Anyone know of a specialist in SE Scotland who would be trustworthy?
check out the recomended supliers thread in the forsale/wanted section theres a link there for balljoint supliers also could the clunking not be the bumpstop end covers missing? mine does this if you park about a meter from the curb on full lock then slowly drive up the kerb you can hear them grating

Mmm, ouch. With labour that's gonna be fun. £120 plus I still want to check those end caps and look into new bushes.
Oh well! Gotta be done I reckon. Must check and make sure there is no rust.
Shaun is no lady. Shaun is a red-blooded bloke. I have to keep him away from my New Beetle Cabriolet, Missy (named in honour of Missy Elliott on account of them both having fine big black booty ;) ). In fact, Shaun is so red, he needs red polish and often has red on him. Hence the name.

lon full lock most mkiii's will clunk and "grate" this is due to the very good turning circle of the car. it is just the wheels turning past the natural point. try not to put full lock on all thre time a 1/4 turn away is just as good. then you will be fine. doesnt neccesarilly mean bushes are worn

No, but I reckon the shaking like a bellydancer when braking and the occasional twitch from the front on sharp corners might. :D And no, the discs aren't warped. I've had way too many cars and recognise warped discs.
