As the title sugests no spark :crybaby:
Droped the engine in yesterday connected all the electrical conectiors up, and most of the pipe work. Put the battery back on. Not sure what it is but theres a little square box (could be a realy) that is on the drivers side inner wing inbetween the master cylinder and (i think) a cruise controle unit, this is buzzing away the whole time reguardless of ignition position. The other thing is the engine management light comes on when the ignition is off but when turned on the light imediately goes out. the engine spinns over but as i said no spark.
Any ideas anyone. Might put it into an auto spark on tuesday if i can't get it running or is this a money sapping idea?

forgot to meantion the temp guage sits all the way at the top the whole time too drops down a tiny bit when the ignition is put on, dunno if that is conected but i thought i'd mention it any way. Also just remembered, in the fuse box there is a round metal (i think) realy that clicks when the battery is conected and so does something else arround the inlet manifold (click) but not too sure where it's coming from

Something sounds dodgy with the electrics Gord, what engine loom are you using?? your one??, or one that was with the engine??

My one coz the loom from your car was slightly different, there was a couple of conectore different (but i know what theyre for now and it's ok lol) but i have an extra plug on the cars origonal loom that conecs onto the sump i think it's an oil level sensor or something i removed the sensor from the origonal engine and played about with the float but made no diff to anything.
Thinking about changing the loom over, what do you think?

Clicking around the inlet manifold is normal, same as the other relay you mentioned, when the ignition is on.
The weird thing is the bit on the drivers side wing, the temp guage and the engine management light.

The ignition isn't on when this happens just as soon as the battery is conected things start clicking and buzzing lol
I also tryed to do a fault code check but nothing happened em light stayed off, might have a go at swaping engine looms after work or before work if i can be bothered to get up early enough :) tomorrow

Relay on drivers side sounds like Fuel Pump Ballast switch over. I had my Temp Gauge once stop working then go off the top and then off, then start to work again. This was accompanied by the engine going loopy. I think the Karman, CTS, Engine position sensor and Gauge Temp sensor share a ground point so this could be a good place to start your investigation.
There are only two things I know that kill the spark on a TCCS, dodgy engine position reluctors/wiring or the Ignitor pack/wiring/IGF signal absent.
Oh! and no nbv at the coils is a killer too :)
Nod.

Still no luck. Went to change the engine loom this evening but after stripping out the origonal loom and nearly finnished fitting the other loom i went to conect up the ecu plugs, and guess what they'r different :banghead: :crybaby: coz the other loom came from an auto doh.
Any way put the origonal loom back in checked, double checked and tripple checked all conectors ect cleaned up all earth points but no difference. Time to call an auto spark i think
