1st 3rd Friday Essex meet of 2009!

The first 3rd friday meet of 2009 is on us again guys, its quite an early one this month as it falls on the 16th, next friday in fact!

I got the impression it was the xmas meal that would have to be moved to another venue!

So who else wants another location for the monthly Essex meet or is the HWH ok for this?

Personally I think its a shame to move an established meet location as it could be a bit confusing for newcomers and seems a bit shifty (boom boom :))
I agree xmas was sh1te and won't do that again but the usual burgers are great so I'm happy to stick with it.
Find an alternative if you like or maybe even an addtional alternative on a different day?

i was thinking of a weekend afternoon meet a while back, maybe not every month, maybe just every now and then when it suits but usable in the winter so we get to see each other in some daylight, maybe if its a nice venue in the summer too?
I can think of one very nice place in High beech,, pping forest with a particularly large car park, excellent ale and food and its 10 mins from M25 junct26 (A121 to waltham abbey) and its closer for the guys who come down from the north as well, Ben and Alan will love it!

when you leave the M11 for the M25 go the other way and its 1/4 the distance (if that) of the HWH

Maybe some time in the future i/we can arrange a meet here one sat or sun lunchtime?

Are you thinking about every month? if so maybe it might be time to move on from the HWH to another venue, and after reading your comments on the service they provided for the Xmas meal why should we be lining there pockets if thats there atitde?
A lunchtime/afternoon meet would mean daylight all year round as well and its location being maybe more atractive for the guys further up the country!

I personally think a fresh start is probably a good idea, after all, the meet is posted on here and so any newcomers or those that have not been for a while should be able to find it.

The Cambridge meet looks a good prospect to me.

Yes, it will be well advertised on the Forum, And being more central maybe the Daventry mob will grace us with there company? once in a while,

I was thinking of the 1st of Feb which is a sunday, Mark 1G is speaking to the landlord in the next day or so on my behalf, just to make sure he's cool with us arriving,

I hope the Essex meet goes ahead is some shape or form? I will be there next friday:yes:.
