I am gonna bung up each end and pump up my intake system....Is there a reason that I shouldn't use the pipe going into the turbo (between turbo and afm), or will this cause issues.....its just easier to get at that pipe than the one that comes out the bottom of the turbo and goes to the IC.

I am gonna pump it it up and see if it all holds pressure, if it doesn't I will have to dicect the system to isolate where the leak is.

Cheers

I thought about what you are doing when I was checking my hardpipes. I didn't bother in the end becuase it seemed like too much trouble as I was replacing everything anyway.
One thing that crossed my mind was that I was not convinced that the throttle butterfly would be 100% airtight. Also you may have to block off the PVC outlet from the TB if you haven't already done this. I wasn't sure if the turbo oil seals might leak a small amount of air too - in theory they shouldn't.
I did make a bung just to check my IC which eventually proved sucessful though. There is a thread on here about it somewhere.

Im gonna have to check my system cause i can only get 7.5psi, there is a loud woooosh when had on boost, so gonna put the stock BOV back in just to make sure it isnt my ssqv leaking. (should be ok to let it dump to the atmos???

My idea (stolen partly from supraforum is the empty can methods. Gonna block the Pipe at the 3000 by capping with half a can and tapping up and also the turbo inlet . then pressurise the system from the BOV hole???

I was gonna bung up both ends, the throttle wouldbn't be a perfect seal as far as i see it.

I thought about the thing about the oil seals in the turbo too.

was gonna do it today, but it pissed it down (wish I had a garage...need my own house too...:crybaby: lol)

will try it with the turbo included first..see how that goes.

just thinking about all this. on a stock car with 3" decatted exhaust and induction, should the needle hit 8psi?
it currently hits around 6-7. if thats right then i'll leave it as is. i was led to believe it would hit 8 with those done so i was wondering if i had a leak.
it certainly gets there faster now though. :)

You shouldn't have an increase in turbo pressure with a exhaust/air filter, just a quicker spool up time.
