knocking sound

hi there people! i have a toyota supra mk3 (1986) non turbo and it has just started to have a loud knocking when you put the throttle on! wot could it be?

aye big ends... does it do it around 2.5k ... cos all 3 of my engines have done it at 2.5k.. might be a bit different on an n/a..

not really and cost me about £300 to do myself but i got a few tool in that to

crank re-grind/polished mains, new big end and main shells took about 6weeks for me to do but i work most days too

well cost me near 2k for a garage to do all the work the first time..

if u can do it yaself then thats the way to go.. but its quite a bit of work..
