looking into doin this, its rather a common thing in the states from what ive found on the net but does any one of any one in the uk thats done it. from what i can gather in my 90spec RHD the engine will drop right in and the gear box is a little fiddly, but if i had standard 320hp from a 2jz could i use a mkiii N/A or turbo gear box??. also lookins like wiring is not entirly straight forward, but shurly if you got a crashed mkiv you could take every thing out including the wiring look and maybe even the clocks???

Arnout has done this, its not a simple conversion, also it requires a 1jz manual bellhousing, which are less common than rocking horse ****.
Check his site out: www.supras.nl

You need a loom from a MkIV, and a loom from a Mk3, and you splice them tog ether I believe. If I was doing the swap I would either go with aftermarket engine management, or get a loom already done from Arnout.

Gearboxes - you can use the V160 six speed manual from the MkIV with a custom propshaft, or get hold of the bellhousing from a JZA70 (Mk3 with a 1JZ engine) and use the R154 gearbox.

If your only after 320hp why not just spend about £1000-£1500 on your 7M rather than £3000+ on a 2JZ and a **** load more money on fitting it??

ok good point, were can i get 320 from a n/a 7m engine for 1500, or do i need to drop a turbo in it

You need a 7M GTE buy an old Supra off ebay with a blown head gasket (should be able to get one for £200 or maybe less) pull the engine, spend about £1000 on a rebuild + exhaust, filter, boost controller and you should be good for 300 crank hp.

or you could use your N/A pistons in the turbo block for higher compresson which will give you more low down torque and better spool up too, just make sure you run on 98 ron fuel with an S-AFC and you should be good to go.

i think arnout only had to extend the loom cos it was LHD. could be wrong tho

How about a Supercharger?

Whip the aircon compressor out and you've got a free pulley for the belt to drive it and space to fit it. Then you'll need brackets, an intercooler, intake pipework, probably increased fuelling.......

The bad news is that you'll likely spend all your budget on parts, so unless you can get the bits cheap, maybe it's not such a good idea after all :banghead:

Mark you ar absolutely correct. Arnout had to extend the loom as his donor car was a jap import

ahh but Arnout is in Holland, hence wanting LHD... (and bizarre euro prices, but that's another story lol)
