Cracked waste gate CT26

I have just finished pulling my turbo off to find the dreded cracked waste gate, it has 1 large crack and 2 smaller cracks. I have read that welding up the cracks is the normal corse of action, all I want to know is how hard is it to weld cast iron?? I have a mig welder and I'm going to have a stab at doing it myself. Any advice would be welcome.

You won't stand much of a chance unless you heat it up first, and you'll want high power and very low wire speed aswell.
