transmition swap

hi folks im new to the forum and looking to purchase a mkiii very soon either a 3.0 turbo or hopefully a 2.5 twin turbo but 90% of cars on offer apear to be autos and i want manual so im thinking by an auto and convert it to manual has any one attempted this and if so how dificult a job is it and are there any parts other than the gearbox i would have to swap hope you guys can help me thanks:)

not realy sure mate try a search theres sure to be a thread regarding this
i would have thought
ecus,prop shaft,pedal box,centre console suround,clutch master cylinder,flywheel,starter,possibly the engine wiring loom
it would probably be easier to wait for a manual car to come up for sale
try the forsale / wanted section on here aswell. My car is an auto and they are pretty cool i think :yes: hth

If you want a 2.5tt then you dont get any choice on gearbox, its a case of buy the first decent one you see.. regardless of colour, gearbox, or anything else :D

Theres an equal mix of 3.0 gearboxes.. auto or manual. For some reason though most of the later models (91+) seem to be auto. Dont discount the auto until you've driven one.. the autos on the 3.0 are great units, and the 2.5tt autos are even better.

I am selling a the complete kit to to the change. It will include:- gearbox, clutch, flywheel, clutch pedal, ecu, clutch servo and any thing else that I have not thought of. PM me if do need it.

I have a nice 3.0 Turbo auto in dark metalic blue for sale i bought it to repair but broke my wrist so out of action for 3 months at least they tell me :crybaby: PM me
