so i take it there are other replacement bulbs available these days? suitable for things like the door opening lights? is it advisable to swap dash bulbs over?erm what about rear lamp cluster bulbs? would they look ok with jdm style lights? and how would the lfm be tricked into still working correctly/

Yes many many replacement lamps are availible.

3 watt LED lamps are now on the market that work well in our clusters, the LFM can be bypassed as its redundant with LEDs anyway! - electronic signal flashers are also on market to fix fast flash when using LED turns.

Dash LED replacements are slowly getting there but due to the way LEDs work the light spread is not normally as even as with bulbs, the only way to get a result like I achieve is to srtrip the dash and back light it bypassing the light guides used by the bulbs.

Much info on me site kids.

LED bulbs I get from HERE (http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=warden_jp2002) Good quality and the 3 watt versions are pretty much brightest on market to date and the ones to go for.

ok man ill have a look later as i reakon i may aswell go for led bulbs for my jdm conversion (a long time coming i know lol). so which type would i need for stop lights and indicators? and reverse aswell. id imagine they would be all different. Oh and to dissable the lfm is that just removing the 2 wires like you told me before?

I would search for the info but im getting hastled of the rents as were in the middle of lots of building work just now. so when i try to go on the pc im getting permanant questions of the mother haha

cheers dude, im not too sure which bulbs are needed for which application ie indicators, dual fillament etc.

does the lfm mod dissable cruise control though?

supradupra.com
01-02-07, 07:22 PM
Nope, not at all, cruise control couldnt care less what the rear lights are doing, that has its own switches on the pedals etc.

just as when the lfm gets knackered (ie water inside it) and the brake warning lights come on etc that dissables the cruise control

supradupra.com

ya, if the unit shorts out and brings the brake lights on all time - this feeds back down the brake light cable which can then be seen by the cruise control.

Disabling the LFM won't give this problem, It can also be bypassed completely if desired.
