      Default A Welsh Supra build

      Well since i have bought the car i havent had much time on the computor to add pictures and such.

      I bought the car off furious here. (If someone could please add the link to his post that be great.)

      So here is the car when i got it.

      The seller, said it had a knock. However when i go there, no knock in sight. BUT it had a HUGE lack of power, the turbo would spool however the car wouldn't pull at all.

      Managed to drive it home. WOW the exhaust SUCKS i really dont like it not for me. I want a Blitz unit. Was a ok drive home the rear caliper was stuck on. so that was fun. anyways got it home and the clio finally said hello.

      So i though. the car has no power. No problem new plugs. try that. took old one out and found....

      replaced old with

      All the oil dropped into teh cylinders and well SMOKE mashine

      After this the car was NO different. to it down the road pulled over and gave it a few revs to try clean out the fuel. after i'd say 5 rev's. The car would only rev to 5600rpm no more at all. the turbo was glowing.... thats not normal surley?

      I this LEANNNN its running. Also by mistake one rev i slipped off teh throttle and stamped on it again... A HUGE BANG the car spat a masive flame out the exhaust. This conferms the lean idea to me.

      So next action. TPS sensor, it was throwing code 41 + 51 both show TPS. OK changed this.

      NOPE now the codes have gone and the car WILL NOT IDLE unless you hold teh throttle pedel. FACCCCC.

      Anyways teh car came with a spare engine. went and collected it. straight 6 golf YO

      Took a few show off pics

      Also the fuel cap had no spring ANNOYING MUCH.

      New spring installed.

      The boot seal was shot, was leaking water in the boot.

      ARHHHH found this under the seal.....

      A few pictures of the car.

      Anyway. Back to the car problem. My next port of call was fuel pump / filter. The filter was throwing BROWN sludge of fuel out of it.... THATS NOT COOL.
      so removed the tank.

      Well heres a problem...

      Ordered a new HRC fuel pump and a filter.

      Did some work to the fuel hanger removed all rust.

      Ive had to modify the hanger a little

      Painted the tank up, well ground it down. rust treaded it. Acid primed it. then stone chipped it.

      Fitted the new fuel pump.

      Found more rott in the boot.

      My idea is to now repalce the whole bottom with flat metel, and stealth build a sup box area. have a new carpet made then to hide it. Should look like this.

      So started to turn my attension to the boot lock area rust.

      So i cut teh old metal out and replaced with new sheet metal, acid etched seam sealed, and stone chipped.

      Then as i wanted to wash and polish it, a few friends popped up.

      So thats all, i havent fitted teh tank or done the boot floor repair yet.

      My plan for this car is;

      HSD coilies down to the deck,
      Some massive 18 x 10 on rear maybe 18 x 9 front. looking into SSR wheels so sexual.
      Poly bush the whole car

      New intercooler and pipe work,
      Precision 58 turbo
      New injectors
      Stand allown ecu

      and 425 BHP on a stock bottom end.

      Re trim ( repair) interiour.
      stone chip and wax oil the whole thing.

      then BOOM theres my new daily

      Must get it ready for march next year.

      Alex

      looking good mate, glad you're sorting it out!

      the HSDs are a great choice - i'm running HSD DTs on mine and it handles beautifully. The rears DO NOT go low enough though - not unless you fancy trimming the shock body down before you thread it into the lower bracket! I've got a build thread on here too and the latest pics of mine are with the rears wound all the way down - the only way to go lower would be to lose some preload on the rears and that's not happening any time soon!

      if you ever want to get rid of those horrible rear lights then let me know, i'll do you a favour and swap mine straight for yours - or even cash your way cos i'm nice like that!

      Looking good so far, keep up the good work. It's unusual to see so much rust on an imported car and in such unusual places.... proves how bad uk weather is on jap steel!

      Cut old floor pan out as it was real rotten;

      peices on the side needed to be replaced so cut the rotten metel out.

      tacked the new piece in;

      then seam welded it in.

      did the same with the other pice that needed to be renewed.;

      placed the new bottom piece in

      and etched the welds,

      Removed the bumper and slam panel.

      this side had slight surface rust, so ground it back and treated the metal

      When treating i found a rubber grommit, so i thought ill remove that treat the area then DUN DUN DURRRR

      It poked through. no problem just new piece i have to make, both sides are the same.

      Moved on and acid etched the area where i had been working.... Lucky if this ever rusts again :P

      BEST quote ever from a angle grinder disc.... NOT for face????

      Thats it so far :P
