Default Anyone know a good place to get a R154 gearbox rebuilt?

      Hi all,

I am trying to find somewhere to rebuild my R154 gearbox as I already have a rebuild kit from Suprastore.com (1JZ Transmission, Drivetrain, Clutches, Etc. - ULTIMATE R-154 Transmission Performance Build Kit). Does anyone know anywhere in the UK who knows these gearboxes? I'm hoping that when the kit is fitted with my Act clutch setup, single piece drive shaft and rebuilt diff it won't break if I take the car on a track or down the drag strip. I have a second 7M engine which I'm planning to build myself to make around 500-600hp at the wheels which is why I'm currently chasing weak points in the transmission etc.

      Cheers,
      Paul

Paul, we can chat about this stuff if you want when Martin and I pop over to see you, just getting a few outstanding bits out the way, then we will come see you, with loom etc. Is it a Marlin Crawler kit you have?
One back in daily use and undergoing cosmetic refinement, one soon to re-emerge bigger and stronger than before.

No worries, sounds good. Btw I fixed the rear suspension. I managed to figure out which parts I needed on the Tein website and luckily it all fitted perfectly. So now the Supra doesn't drag its diff over speed bumps anymore. Plus I fixed the hot starting issue as well with a relay, so now I just need to get the bodywork done and recondition the turbo to stop it smoking then she'll be show ready.

The kit I have has some Marlin Crawler components, but some of the shift forks are Driftmotion ones. It was the most complete kit I could find to upgrade the R154 gearbox as the Marlin Crawler website doesn't seem to list the kit anymore. They just offer a gearbox rebuild with their components, which would be nice but I don't fancy my chances sending it to America and getting it back undamaged.
